| Photo's taken at Bovington Tank Museum, ( http://www.tankmuseum.org/ ), during the Battlegroup South wargame show held at the museum on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of July 2006. The majority of the photgraphs are of the fantastic military vehicles they have on disply and only include a part of the collection. The rest of the photo's are of some of the games that were put on by various clubs during the weekend. I appologise if any of the close up's are slightly out of focus but I was using the macro facility on my camera without a tripod. Please feel free to download any of the images, the larger images are 1024 x 768, but if you would like an even larger picture, (2048 x 1536), I can e-mail them to you direct. Please note though that these full size images are approx 1.2Mg each. |
A replica of the Royal Armoured Corps Memorial. The origianl bronze statue is in Whitehall Place, London.
The group was originally designed by George Henry Paulin in 1953 as a contender for a proposed Royal Armoured Corps memorial. It was adapted by Vivien Mallock and cast by Morris Singer of Hampshire. This is a full size fibreglass master from which the mould was made.
The statue depicts the crew of a Royal Tank Regiment Comet in North West Europe early in 1945; the Commander with his binoculars, the gunner with telescopic sight & the hull gunner with his Besa machine-gun. The statue stands near the entrance to the museum and is floodlit at night.
